A Brief Introduction

Hold events let you schedule events that may not happen, or may happen on different days. While you wait to confirm an event, a ghost event, like in the image below, will appear in your calendar as a placeholder. You can assign a Hold event on several dates, each getting their own copy of the ghost event.

You can continue adding or removing dates as plans change or solidify.

Creating Hold Events

When creating an event, open the dropdown menu next to the "Create" header and select Hold.

Accepting Event Requests as a Hold Event

To get started, open an Event Request and click Accept as Hold.

You will get a chance to fill out some additional details. While the Event Status is set to Hold, clicking Accept Event Request will create the Hold event.

List of Hold Events

To view all current Hold events in your group, click the Hold Events tab next to the Requests tab at the top of your group's Requests page. When an event request is accepted as a Hold event, the event request gets removed from the Requests list and placed here automatically.

Note

Hold events not created via event requests will also appear in the Hold Events tab.

Dates

Adding Dates

You can add a date during the creation of a Hold event by clicking Add Date.

Tip

If you'd like to add dates later, you can do so from the Hold event's slide-out.

Deleting Dates

You can delete a date from within the Hold event's slide-out.

You can also right-click (Control-click on a Mac) and click Remove Date From Hold.

Primary Dates

The original date will be marked "Primary" in the Hold Event's slide-out. To assist in planning, you can mark, unmark, and re-mark as many dates as needed.

Finalizing a Hold Event

To accept a Hold event, right-click/control-click the Hold event and select Accept Hold.

Or select Confirm in the Hold event's slide-out.

You can then select other available dates to confirm.

The event will be created on the selected dates and the hold event will be removed from any dates that weren't selected.

Deleting a Hold Event

Right-clicking/Control-clicking a Hold event and selecting Delete will delete the entire Hold event including its original Event Request.

That's it!
